Hotels and restaurants will refrain from serving alcohol on Wednesday, September 20 and Thursday, September 21 as the emirates mark Islamic New Year.
The period has been moved forward by one day, Dubai Tourism said on Tuesday.
It had originally told licensed premises to halt serving drinks and hosting live entertainment between 6pm on Thursday and 7pm on Friday.
This will now be from 6pm on Wednesday to 7pm on Thursday.
The move had meant that Friday brunches, which are hosted by many hotels and beach clubs, were due to be cancelled and tour boats and other operators were asked to refrain from hosting parties and live entertainment.
The move is implemented as a mark of respect as the country celebrates Al Hijri, known as Islamic New Year.
The other emirates are yet to confirm licensing hours but they are typically unified on religious holidays.
