Raffles Dubai, the landmark luxury hotel celebrating its 10th anniversary this November, will host the global public unveiling of the ‘World’s Most Expensive Shoe’ on Wednesday, November 1st. Created by Debbie Wingham, the world’s most expensive designer, the unique piece of diamond art is worth a spectacular $15 million (AED 55 million).

The showcase at Raffles Dubai will be the first time the lavish masterpiece has been revealed to the public. Commissioned by a private client of the acclaimed designer as a surprise 30th birthday gift, the artwork features over 1,000 diamonds set in platinum with 24-carat gold thread stitching. The diamonds used in the piece are extremely rare due to their colour, size and flawless clarity, and include two three-carat pink diamonds, valued at $4.4 million (AED 16.2 million) each, two blue diamonds of one carat, worth US 1.9 million (AED 7 million) each, and four flawless clarity three-carat white diamonds.
Take the opportunity to marvel at this one-of-a-kind treasure by making a reservation for The Collection – Fashion Afternoon Tea at Raffles, on Thursday, November 2nd or Friday, November 3rd. A glamourous afternoon for fashionistas and trend-setters, behold the ‘World’s Most Expensive Shoe’ while indulging in delectable savoury bites and sweet treats inspired by designer collections straight from the runway, served in the elegant surroundings of Raffles Salon.
Designer Debbie Wingham shot to fame as the creator of the ‘World’s Most Expensive Black Diamond Dress’ and the ‘World’s Most Expensive Red Diamond Abaya’, both of which have previously been exhibited at Raffles Dubai. Renowned for her opulent and luxurious creations for celebrities, royalty and the well-heeled, Wingham recently made the transition from haute couture to cake artistry with the ‘World's Most Expensive Cake’. Wingham employed decorative cake techniques in the design of the ‘World’s Most Expensive Shoe’, created with the assistance of Chris Campbell, an internationally famed shoe designer.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the creation of the bejewelled artwork, designer and diamond artist Wingham said: “Diamonds are becoming the material of choice for my clients, only now we are looking at them in a more inventive way. Many of my clients have valuable pieces of jewellery that live in a safe and are only worn once or twice in a lifetime; by using their precious gems to design a bespoke piece of art, I can create something that can be admired on a daily basis.”
