Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach has received the international environmental certification ISO14001

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach has entered new realms approaching sustainability having recently passed the audit to become ISO14001 certified. The luxury hotel has launched a number of new environmentally friendly initiatives and further developed existing practices in pursuit of this accreditation.

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach has gone to great lengths to becoming more socially and ecologically aware and has committed, as part of its Environmental Management System policy, to protect the environment in a number of different ways. These include setting performance objectives, saving water, recycling waste, using certified copier paper and using eco friendly chemicals, proving carbon footprints are now just as important as delivering unparalleled service.

The implementation of these new ecological operations has only been possible through Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach’s diligent approach to its Environmental Management System, whereby all employees are trained on the basic principles of sustainability by raising awareness of day-to-day green operations.

Being awarded with ISO14001 ties in with AccorHotels’ wider Planet 21 sustainable development program, described by Mr Antoine M. Lhuguenot, as a “vital tool in the quest towards ecological preservation.”

Planet 21 AccorHotels Sustainable Development Program is a benchmarking program to measures key indicators such as Energy & Water Consumption, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Waste Management, Community Commitment and Management of Chemicals, to provide a holistic picture of operational performance of the hotels.

As part of this, the team at Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach recently created a creative display in the lobby made purely out of recycled items. This was accompanied by a video, which educated guests with the hotel’s recycling statistics.
