Harvey Nichols – Dubai held host to a memorable and inspiring Autumn/Winter 2015 Fashion Show, with key international men’s and women’s fashion trends for the new season showcased on the runway available to buy in-store now.
Based in a custom-made white tent, reminiscent of the iconic New York Fashion Week tent of Bryant Park, over 700 stylish guests enjoyed attending a fashion show in the luxury custom that they have come to expect from Harvey Nichols – Dubai. The guests were welcomed in an opulent, dimly lit pre-show space that was reminiscent of older times before they were able to enter the main arena which was focused around a long, monochromatic tiled runway set before a large LED screen.
A hush fell over of the crowd as the screen switched to a short presentation of Dior Beauty, the official makeup sponsor for the event, and then displayed an analogue clock going back in time, counting down the start of the show. Set to the backdrop of a medieval castle, the show kicked off with a series of fashion-forward looks that demonstrated the key trend of the season: Dark Romantic. Intricate detailing and rich fabrics in rich hues such as purple, burgundy and emerald green set a moody yet edgy tone to the sophisticated looks that were carefully curated using coveted brands such as Givenchy, Erdem, Alexander McQueen and Dries Van Noten showcasing the must-have pieces from the in-store collections.
The screen changed to showcase the next series of looks, this time, more quirky, colourful displaying the key pieces from the AW15 season from contemporary brands such as Tsumori Chisato, MSGM, and Carven which highlighted the prominent Decade Darling trend inspired by the Mod culture of the 60s and 70s.
A strong menswear collection was presented with looks that ranged from casual to formal, from street to refined. Featuring favourite designer brands such as Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen who catered to the key men’s trend: Relaxed Dandy while exciting new additions from Helmut Lang, ¬ Y-3 and Buscemi accommodated the more contemporary urban men who wish to fuse style with functionality.
The eveningwear finale was introduced with customary flair. Here, Harvey Nichols – Dubai showcased breath-taking formal creations from customer-favourite eveningwear brands such as Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhullier alongside new brands such as Alexandra Vidal and Pamella by Pamella Roland. Set to theatrical classical music, with dramatic hair inspired by the gothic period, and strong, high-fashion runway makeup looks created especially by Dior’s international makeup
artist Ralph Lteif, the audience was transported to a show that was an ode to the international fashion weeks of New York, London, Milan and Paris.
The post-event reception was an elegant affair with hip, live music provided by a DJ. With multiple interaction points throughout the venue including a #MyHNDubai photo print station, guests were able to enjoy the ambience well into the evening.
At Harvey Nichols – Dubai, the AW15 season is a celebration of individuality and we welcome you to come into store to discover your favourite trend for the new season.
