Print and Floral Patterns

11 May 2016

On the catwalks, House of Holland showcases a modern take on a retro floral print with stark black outlines, while clean white bases lend a fresh touch to Victoria Beckham’s abstracted pink blooms. Blown-up placements can also be used, as seen with combinations of painterly petals and sheer knit at Missoni or vivid color pop bases on a Marni bag. Ditsy florals inspire notions of the springtime prairie, on show in delicate repeat patterns. Classic flower motifs take on a modern freshness when... Read More

CHAINED

11 May 2016

Chain straps appeared as a trend during the 2015 seasons as well, so we were hoping it would carry on with a little bit of something new. That is exactly what happened as we combine the featured favorite chains with fringe for example at DVF, or with oven shaped designs as seen at Betsey Johnson. Even the Jeremy Scott flowers have chains to hold on to.

Pretty fringes added create colorful flowers at Monique Lhuillier, while we see a whole lot of chains appearing at Alexander Wang,... Read More

Just Woven

06 Apr 2016

A woven bag is a wardrobe must-have. And the best thing is, you don't even need the beach to carry one. They work just as well in the city and can even double as work bags. The beach bag screams good vibes and sunshine. A whole lot of textured looks combine to pull together the Dolce & Gabbana look as well, what with the tassels, embroidery, and golden chains all around. The bags are certainly carrying some sexy bags. What if we saw two similar sized bags stuck together though? That is... Read More

Snakeskin

06 Apr 2016

The designers borrowed this idea also from the Nature, ages ago. All kinds of animal prints have been in for at least 5 years, but in spring 2016 reptile prints will replace tiger and leopard coloration. After viewing hundreds of catwalk looks we’ve come to the conclusion that couturiers went into cahoots and made a collective foray into a giant serpentarium. And while Prada restricts itself to details and furnishings made of snakeskin,

Bags With Top Handles

06 Apr 2016

The Kate Bosworth handbag style of having top handles only is sweeping the fashion industry and we are loving it. It is a huge trend, possibly the biggest in terms of SS 2016 handbags and comes in a myriad of designs, from the structured alligator skin Zimmermann and Zac Posen looks to the metallic DVF styling. Tory Burch gives those things a 3D effect, while shimmering silver is what we get to see at Christian Siriano.

Large totes anyone? Opening Ceremony has some awesome styles for... Read More

Just bag them all!

13 Sep 2015

Pre-fall 2015 runways unleashed bags-to-grab right from structured and boxy totes to roomy backpacks, furry and fringed beauties to flowery and sparkly creations

A woman’s handbag is her very own treasure trove housing in its secret chambers anything from house keys, jewels, compacts, lip sticks, ID’s, credit cards, half eaten sandwiches, toffees (and according to one lady I knew, even a hammer).

And while it may be a chore to transfer all those items (some of which you... Read More

Studded sensations

07 May 2015

Runways were simply awash with metallic hardware right from dresses, gowns and jeans to accessories such as handbags, shoes and even hairclips! So give in to temptation and simply flash that bling to show who’s in (for the game that is)!

The classic material for studded attractions of all kinds is of course leather. It’s guaranteed to give you that rock-chic look (especially great with a bike in tow, some swashbuckling boots and of course, not-to-forget, those aviator glares). But as... Read More

Art from the Heart

07 May 2015

To take a ‘break from bling’ you have plenty of art motif touches in fashion and accessories. And they are all the rage this season for those wanting to display their eclectic taste and preference!

To set the evening’s tempo, Temperley London at Saks Fifth Avenue has a silkish, full-sleeved, midnight blue dress with self-motif, a centre split, a long shrug and a jeweled butterfly brooch on the waist to peg the look.

Valentino’s butterfly-adorned clutch is a fluttering... Read More
