Gulf Craft Group has long been at the forefront of the yachting industry, pushing boundaries in design, engineering, and global reach. In an exclusive interview, Mohammed Hussein AlShaali, CEO and founder of Gulf Craft, shares insights into the company’s latest milestones, innovations, and strategic vision for the future.
Mr. AlShaali, last year you proudly announced the establishment of the Gulf Craft Group, marking a strategic leap toward consolidating its global leadership position in the maritime industry. Could you tell us more about it?
With the integration of Gulf Craft Inc. and our various services under the Gulf Craft Group umbrella, we are set for even greater success. This move is about creating a central hub that offers a complete range of boats and superyachts – from 32 feet to 175 feet – along with services such as vessel registrations, customer support, and captain and crew assistance. Our global reach ensures that clients everywhere benefit from seamless, high-quality services.
Gulf Craft has a legacy of pushing the boundaries of yacht design and engineering. What challenges do you face when continuously raising the bar in superyacht manufacturing?
One of the key challenges we face is meeting the growing demand for luxury yachts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. As marine enthusiasts’ tastes evolve, we must adapt quickly to ensure we meet their ever-changing expectations. Supply chain challenges and balancing demand with supply are also significant factors. However, we view these challenges as opportunities for innovation. Our global expansion, including the new Maldives facility, and investments in cutting-edge technologies help us stay competitive and efficient. We are also seeing a rising demand for personalization, and at Gulf Craft, we embrace this shift. We’re preparing for a future focused on AI and tailored experiences, ensuring we continue to lead the way in superyacht manufacturing.
What are the latest trends and innovations in the yachting industry?
The yachting industry is currently undergoing a significant transformation, with sustainability and technological innovation at the forefront. Gulf Craft is leading this shift by integrating renewable energy solutions like solar power, enhancing hull designs for better fuel efficiency, and pioneering green technologies. Our collaborations with H2-Enterprises for zero-emissions yachts and the development of Active Foiling ferry boats in the Maldives reflect our commitment to a greener future. Additionally, we are seeing the adoption of AI and automation, making yachts more efficient and personalized. We’ve just signed an MoU with Partsol, a leader in Cognitive AI-driven technology solutions, to collaborate on integrating AI into luxury yacht production.

The Boat Show provides a unique platform for us to connect with marine enthusiasts, industry professionals, and potential owners from around the world. We also support incubators for young Emirati entrepreneurs, providing incentives and programs to foster innovation and contribute to the region's economic development. We’re committed to nurturing future talent, which is why we collaborate with universities like DIDI and Ajman University, offering internships and workshops to give young professionals hands-on experience. This strategic shift solidifies Gulf Craft Group as the ultimate destination for yachting excellence worldwide.
