Dubai today hosts the opening of the World Governments Summit 2026, bringing together an unprecedented gathering of global leaders, policymakers, and influencers under the theme “Shaping Future Governments.”

Running from February 3 to 5, the three-day summit is being hailed as the most ambitious edition in the event’s history. It brings together more than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, over 500 ministers, and representatives from more than 150 governments, all participating in high-level discussions on the future of governance.

Beyond government leadership, the summit convenes over 700 CEOs of major global corporations, 87 laureates of prestigious scientific awards, including Nobel Prize winners, and delegates from more than 80 international and regional organisations and academic institutions. Total participation exceeds 6,250 attendees, highlighting the summit’s growing global influence.

The agenda features more than 445 sessions and over 450 global speakers, including heads of state, ministers, experts, thinkers, and decision-makers. Discussions focus on key themes such as global governance, economic prosperity, societal wellbeing, urban futures, and emerging frontiers shaping the next era of public policy.

The expanded programme also includes 25 global forums and over 45 ministerial and high-level meetings, addressing topics ranging from finance and youth leadership to aviation, tourism, and innovation. Strategic dialogues and bilateral engagements are underway as part of the summit’s opening day.

In addition to its discussions, the summit will deliver concrete outcomes. Organisers are set to release 36 strategic reports in collaboration with international knowledge partners, offering insights into global policy priorities. The third edition of the Global Ministers Survey will also be launched, while several prestigious awards — including the Best Minister Award and the Global Teacher Prize — will recognise excellence in public service and governance.

Dubai authorities have implemented extensive logistical measures to accommodate the event’s scale. Travel and parking advisories have been issued, while the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced dedicated shuttle services and restricted vehicle access to ensure smooth movement around summit venues.

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum welcomed participants, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to international cooperation, constructive dialogue, and innovative solutions to global challenges.

As the World Governments Summit 2026 unfolds over the coming days, global attention remains firmly on Dubai, where leaders and experts are working together to shape new approaches to governance in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
