Back To Main Page: Watches and jewelry
To mark the arrival of the Year of the Horse in the Chinese lunar calendar, beginning on February 17, 2026, leading watchmakers have unveiled special limited-edition timepieces featuring the horse — a symbol of strength, freedom, and vitality. In Chinese culture, the horse represents energy, courage, success, and good fortune, and watch brands reflect this symbolism not only through artistic design but also through the philosophy of time, movement, and craftsmanship.
Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Year of the Horse
Vacheron Constantin continues its tradition of honoring Chinese culture with a limited series of 25 pieces in pink gold and 25 in platinum. The 40 mm case combines haute horlogerie with refined craftsmanship.
The watch is powered by the automatic calibre 2460 G4, which replaces traditional hands with four apertures displaying hours, minutes, day, and date, leaving the center of the dial free for artistic expression. At its heart is a three-dimensional gold sculpture of a horse, surrounded by enamel leaves crafted using grand feu, miniature painting, and relief engraving techniques. Each dial requires up to two weeks to complete.
This series marks the beginning of Vacheron Constantin’s second 12-year zodiac cycle and highlights the brand’s longstanding cultural ties with China, dating back to 1846. The timepieces embody a perfect synthesis of technical mastery and artistic heritage, reflecting the brand’s enduring commitment to the “art of movement.”
IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Automatic 42 Year of the Horse
IWC Schaffhausen has introduced a limited-edition model in a 42 mm stainless steel case. The watch stands out with its burgundy dial, inspired by traditional red tones symbolizing prosperity and the festive spirit of the Lunar New Year.

The model is powered by the in-house IWC 52011 automatic calibre. A distinctive detail is the rotor shaped like a galloping horse, symbolizing the dynamism and vitality of the year ahead. The dial maintains the classic Portugieser layout: small seconds at 9 o’clock, power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock, and a neatly placed date window at 6 o’clock. Gold-toned hands and Roman numerals enhance the watch’s refined elegance.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel ‘Horse’
Jaeger-LeCoultre presents a model crafted in its Métiers Rares atelier, marking the fourth piece in its Chinese zodiac series (following the Tiger, Dragon, and Snake editions).

The dial is made of glossy black Grand Feu enamel. When the case is reversed, it reveals an expressive hand engraving: a horse emerging from golden clouds, accentuated by deep black enamel. Contrasting black rhodium elements and sandblasted cloud textures enhance the sense of motion and depth. The model retains the signature Reverso Tribute features: Art Deco hour markers, a chemin de fer minute track, and Dauphine hands.
Hermès Arceau Rocabar de Rire
Hermès continues its tradition of artistic experimentation with the Arceau line. The new model, housed in a 41 mm white gold case, combines horsehair marquetry, hand engraving, and miniature painting to depict a playful horse.

The asymmetrical lugs, inspired by stirrups, are a signature of the Arceau collection. Sapphire crystal is used on both the front and caseback, revealing the intricate decoration and finely finished movement. The dial, set on a brass base, features a horse created using micro-painting and traditional engraving techniques, achieving remarkable detail and rich color depth. A whimsical touch: when activated on demand, the horse sticks out its tongue, adding humor and the distinctive charm of Hermès.
