The 5th World Government Summit kicked off in Dubai today at Mina Al Salam and will be run until Feb. 14 2017. It will debate the economy as well as finance, health, education, government services and the most urgent issues confronting the world today.

Drawing 4,000 delegates and 150 distinguished speakers from 139 countries across the world, this edition is hosting the first international gathering of experts on happiness under the title ‘Global Dialogue for Happiness’ an aspect which has become a part of the UAE’s national agenda.  

The previous edition featured a dialogue on the future of government conducted by HH Sheikh Mohammed, the UAE’s Prime minister and Vice President and Ruler of Dubai and an address by the previous US President Barack Obama.

The World Government Summit is a global platform dedicated to shaping the future of government worldwide. Each year, the Summit sets the agenda for the next generation of governments with a focus on how they can harness innovation and technology to solve universal challenges facing humanity.
