More concerts from Abu Dhabi Classics will be announced soon.
Under the baton of acclaimed conductor Mikhail Pletnev, the Russian National Orchestra will deliver a programme that is mostly dedicated to 19th and 20th century Russian composers.
On Thursday, October 10, the orchestra will take on Shostakovich’s 1933’s Concerto in C minor for Piano, Trumpet and String Orchestra.
The following night, Friday, October 11, will find the orchestra perform the much-loved 5th Symphony by Tchaikovsky. Also on the programme that night is Alexander Glazunov’s music for the ballet The Seasons and two pieces, Ancestor Suite and Homework Suite, by contemporary North American composer Gordon Getty.
Joining the orchestra each night is one of classical music’s rising stars, Lucas Debargue. The French pianist made himself known within the industry after winning the fourth prize at the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition.
