Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UAE hosts reception marking National Day

The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UAE, Alexander Efimov hosted a reception last evening on the occasion of the Russia's National Day at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment Assistant, Shehab Ahmed Mohammed Al Fahim Under-Secretary for Protocol Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, a number of officials, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the UAE and a number of Russian businessmen and members of the Russian community residing in the country.

In his speech on the occasion, the Russian ambassador hailed the outstanding bilateral relations between the UAE and Russia, adding that these relations have witnessed great developments in recent years at all levels.

Celebrated since 1992 annually on 12 June, the Russia National Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) on 12 June 1990 and marks the beginning of constitutional reform in the Russian Soviet state.
