Azerbaijan trade mission to Dubai

Trade and business relations between the United Arab Emirates and Azerbaijan are developing at a growing pace. In order to expand on this development, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) under the patronage of Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan hold a Trade Export Mission to Dubai on 3-5, December 2017.

The export mission was hold with support of Ministry of Economy and organization of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) with the purpose of “Made in Azerbaijan” brand promotion, includes the representatives of Azerbaijan companies selected on competitive basis and engaged in the production of fruit juices, dried fruits, canned food, honey, tea, meat as well as production of processed meat.

Within the export mission’s frame the Azerbaijan’s businessmen attended bilateral business meetings organized jointly by AZPROMO and Azerbaijan Representation Office in United Arabian Emirates. During the meetings was provided the information on Azerbaijan products, as well as holds discussion of sale prospects and distribution of Azerbaijan products in Dubai’s stores and markets. During the meetings the Azerbaijan products, particularly honey, meat and dairy were met with a great interest.

There was reached an initial agreement between Azerbaijan’s “Brightman BMC” company and “Al-Maya” and “Lulu” store networks and "Al-Ghamdi” trading company on the export of canned products to UAE and Bangladesh. Negotiations starts between Azerbaijan “Sunfood” company and “Al-maya”, “Lulu”, “Al-Qudva” store networks on the export of pomegranate juice and tea; and “Kerkom” and “Azeri-bal” companies on honey export to UEA as well. Export mission visited markets and large store networks in Dubai.

Azerbaijan companies engaged in production and export of fruits and vegetables also participated in WOP Dubai, the largest fruits and vegetables exhibition in the Middle East. Within the framework of the exhibition was held "Export potential of fruits and vegetables in Azerbaijan" seminar. During the workshop, foreign entrepreneurs were informed about the products that are competitive and export-oriented, promoting the brand “Made in Azerbaijan”, and there were presentations about the activities of the companies participating in the export mission. During the exhibition also were presented the Azerbaijani products. Azerbaijan fruit and vegetable products were welcomed by the exhibition’s participants. There were also signed an agreed to export Azerbaijani fruits to India.

A number of successful results were also achieved during the meetings within the framework of the export mission. During the meetings, the Azerbaijani company Brightman BMC obtained preliminary agreement with Al-Maya and Lulu networks and Al-Ghamdi trading company for the export of canned products to the UAE and Bangladesh. Started negotiations of Sunfood, pomegranate juice and tea, Seba meat products, honeys by Kerkom and Azeri-Bal to be distribute to Al-Maya, Lulu, Al-Gudva markets network. "Az-Granata" company has reached an initial agreement with "Vit" company on export of pomegranate juice to Dubai. Azprotein has agreed with Al-Tayer retail and wholesale distributor company to export through Choitrams chains the meat products to the UAE and other Gulf countries.
