Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Fallen Warriors Memorial in Abu Dhabi on 31 October. The wreath-laying ceremony was the key protocol event of the Belarusian head of state’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
A guard of honor company took part in the solemn ceremony. Alexander Lukashenko laid the wreath at the monument and stayed silent for a minute in honor of the heroes, who had given their lives in the service of their country.
Alexander Lukashenko was accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court. Alexander Lukashenko was made familiar with architectural peculiarities of the memorial and left a note in the distinguished visitors’ book. The sides exchanged gifts after that.
The Fallen Warriors Memorial (Wahat Al Karama) is located opposite to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The memorial comprises 31 massive tablets, which lean on each other and bear names of the fallen warriors. The monument praises the values of unity and solidarity of the nation.
