Emiratis to serve longer in military as National Service is extended

Compulsory military service has been extended to 16 months for young men holding a secondary high school certificate and above, the General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces has said.

It was previously set at 12 months.

Compulsory national service for all young Emirati men aged between 18 and 30 was introduced in 2014. Women of the same age group can volunteer, as can men aged between 30 and 40.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was welcomed by Nursultan Nazarbayev, the country's president. The meeting was the second in recent months, as Mr Nazarbayev met Sheikh Mohammed on an official visit to Abu Dhabi in March.

The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from July 4, 2018 introduces new regulations to further optimize the order of entry of foreign citizens to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

E-visa is introduced from 15 July 2018 Uzbekistan starts issuing an electronic visa (E-VISA.UZ) for citizens of 51 countries, including UAE, to enter the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Emirates has been serving the Russian market since 1st July 2003 and already flies twice daily to Domodedovo on Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER and daily to St Petersburg (LED). Aeroflot retains title as Europe’s Leading Airline at the World Travel Awards

For the second year in a row Aeroflot has won two categories at the prestigious World Travel Awards: Europe’s Leading Airline and Europe’s Leading Airline – Business Class. In addition, this year for the first time Aeroflot took the title of Europe’s Leading Airline to Asia.
