Dense fog and travel disruption set to continue until Thursday

The National -- People have been warned to prepare for even more delays as fog is set to persist across the UAE.

Heavy fog has blanketed parts of the country since Friday, disrupting flights, stranding passengers and causing traffic problems over the busy holiday period.

But no respite is forecast until at least Thursday.

Dense fog could hit Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the central and northern areas of the country, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said on Monday.

The National -- There is little clarity over when Emirates airline will resume its Dubai-Tunis route.

On Sunday an intelligence warning about a possible terror attack prompted Emirates airline to step up security screening of Tunisian female passengers, this in turn prompted Tunisia to ban Emirates from landing in Tunis.

The Telegraph -- The world’s largest amphibious aircraft, the China's first home-grown large amphibious aircraft AG600, made its maiden flight on Sunday, and comes as the latest milestone in the country’s efforts to modernise its military.

UAE world's largest donor of official development aid, OECD report says

The National -- The UAE has been ranked as the world's largest donor of official development aid, relative to its national income, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The official development aid provided by the UAE during 2016 reached Dh15.57 billion, making up 1.21 per cent of the country's gross national income.

More than 58 per cent of the development aid provided by the UAE was in the form of grants, WAM reported.

UAE bans chicken and egg imports from Saudi Arabia

The National -- The UAE banned the import of all chicken and egg products from Saudi Arabia following the detection of the highly pathogenic H5N8 bird flu in Riyadh.

The ban extends to all live domestic, wild and ornamental birds, chicks, hatchling eggs, any egg-based products not thermally treated, poultry meat and products not thermally treated, including table eggs.

Gulf News -- Dubai Frame, the latest tourist attraction in the city, will open to public coming week, a top official said.

The official inauguration of the project will take place at coming week and the public will be able to visit the Frame from the next day, Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality told Gulf News.
