The National -- Emirates, the world’s largest operator of wide-body aircraft, is still in discussions with Airbus to buy additional A380 superjumbos, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of the airline, said.

The National -- Abu Dhabi Police stopped an Emirati from taking his own life by jumping off Sheikh Zayed Bridge on Monday.

The 22-year-old man was stood on the edge of the 64m high bridge during rush hour when police were called.

Police closed the bridge and authorities urged commuters to take an alternative route while they dealt with the incident.
