The National -- Dubai Police helped to thwart an international smuggling gang that used elaborate techniques to take drugs across borders.

From discovering the secrets of hidden compartments in suitcases and hollowed-out bananas, law enforcement managed to seize two tonnes of drugs in a number of European countries including Denmark, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Austria.

Abu Dhabi Police stop Emirati from jumping off Sheikh Zayed Bridge

The National -- Abu Dhabi Police stopped an Emirati from taking his own life by jumping off Sheikh Zayed Bridge on Monday.

The 22-year-old man was stood on the edge of the 64m high bridge during rush hour when police were called.

Police closed the bridge and authorities urged commuters to take an alternative route while they dealt with the incident.

Earthquake in Iran-Iraq border, tremors felt in UAE

Khaleej Times -- Several UAE residents took to social media late Sunday night saying that they have felt some tremors corresponding to an earthquake.

According to multiple users on Twitter, they felt the ground trembling for a brief period and are asking if others have also experienced it. Business Insider -- Boeing and Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) announced an order for five more B787-8 Dreamliners and a commitment to purchase two large freighters B747-8F (or B777F).
