Boeing delivers Etihad Airways’ first 787-9 Dreamliner

Abu Dhabi based airline first in the Middle East to receive the 787-9

Dubai: Boeing said on Thursday it delivered Etihad Airways’ first 787-9 Dreamliner sporting the airline’s new livery, which was revealed recently. The aircraft is the first of the 71 Dreamliners that the Abu Dhabi-based carrier has on order, which includes forty-one 787-9s and thirty 787-10s, Boeing said in a statement. Dubai Duty Free Sales Touch $1.9bn In 2014

Perfume was the top selling product in Dubai Duty Free during 2014, followed by liquor and gold, the airport retailer said.

Sales at Dubai Duty Free (DDF) rose to reach almost Dhs7 billion ($1.9 billion) in 2014, up 7.36 per cent from 2013, the airport retailer said in a statement.

The group also set a new monthly sales record in December with sales soaring to reach Dhs749.13 million ($205.24 million), up seven per cent from Dhs700 million in the corresponding period of 2013.... Read More

Dubai International Airport passengers are projected to reach 78.4 million in 2015

Dubai International announced it is set to clock up more than 71 million passengers by the end of the year and could overtake the current busiest airport in the world - Heathrow. UAE development assistance amounts to 5.4b in 2013, 1.34 per cent of Gross National Income

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has been named the world’s largest donor of official development assistance in 2013, offering $5.4 billion (Dh19.84 billion), representing 1.34 per cent of its Gross National Income, according to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

China was Dubai’s top non-oil foreign trade partner, followed by India and the US, figures revealed.

Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade amounted to Dhs988 billion during the first nine months of 2014, figures released by Dubai Customs showed.

Out of the overall trade, imports had the biggest share with a value of Dhs621 billion while exports and re-exports to the emirate reached Dhs86 billion and Dhs280 billion respectively.
