The second day of the Russian-Arab Business Council Forum was held under the auspices of the role of women in modern business. Women’s entrepreneurship is one of the most important factors contributing to the economic prosperity of all countries in the world. The economic inclusion of women is a fundamental element in the creation of stable, prosperous and peaceful societies.

The panel session “The role of a woman entrepreneurs in the modern world” brought together 9 speakers: presidents of World’s Association of Women-Entrepreneurs and chairwomen of women’s commissions of chambers of commerce from Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Russia.

The panel session was devoted to the current state of development of women’s entrepreneurship, gender patterns in terms of the gap between the requirements of economic development and culture. Topics such as the management of emotional intelligence and the role of women in shaping the new economy in the context of current trends were touched upon.The session was opened by Leila Khayat, Honorary President of the World’s Association of Women-Entrepreneurs in Tunisia, Farida Abdulla Kamber Al Awadhi, President of the Emirates Business Women Council in the UAE and Tatyana Gvilava, President of the All-Russian Public Organization “Women of Business”.

During the session, an agreement was signed on cooperation between the Council of Women Entrepreneurs of the Emirates and the All-Russian Public Organization “Women of Business”, within the framework of which the first Russian-Arab Business Council of Women Entrepreneurs will be created this year.

“Today we are attending a very important event. For the first time, women’s associations from the Middle East and Russia will unite into one Business Council. This is a big responsibility for us, there is difficult and painstaking work to be done, but this is a new milestone in relations between our countries and an interesting opportunity for us, as for women,” Tatyana Gvilava noted in her speech.

A woman can do everything — this was the conclusion made by the participants of the open dialogue “Women in the Development of Social Entrepreneurship”, which discussed various approaches to doing business not only in the traditional areas of beauty and health for women but also in such industries as construction, manufacturing and banking.

The agenda also included informal conversations. During the business lunch, the participants were actively networking with colleagues from different countries, shared their experience of combining career and family life. On the 27th and 28th of January the Emirates Women Entrepreneurs Council (EBWC), together with the All-Russian Public Organization “Women of Business”, prepared a separate cultural program for delegations of women entrepreneurs.

The RABC meeting was held with the support of the Union of Arab Chambers and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry as part of the global exhibition EXPO 2020, Dubai.
