The Etisalat Beach Canteen is not only the well-known culinary hub of the Dubai Food Festival, it has become the place where people can buy beach-friendly fashion and accessories, or indulge in relaxing beauty regimes.

Four beauty and fashion vendors have brought out the best of the beach and beauty treatments at the Etisalat Beach Canteen at the Kite Beach this year, including Beach Hut, West L.A., s*uce ON-SEA and The Nail Spa.

Beach Hut, as the name suggests, is all about outdoor and carefree beach living and beachwear. Mothers walking in from the beach with their children in prams loved the beach-friendly brands that were stocked in the Beach Hut such as SnapperRock, Wild Wood and Maarli.

Fiona Falconer, owner of the Maarli brand, said:“Not only has the beach vibe been excellent but brands such as Snapper Rock have been a hit with the mothers looking for affordable swimwear for their little ones”

She added: “As for Maarli, we are an online store, so being a part of the Etisalat Beach Canteen meant that we not only met the typical Maarli customer but we have also attracted the younger crowd.”

This is the first time that West L.A. has taken part in the Etisalat Beach Canteen. Samah Elwagie, PR Director, West L.A. said: “The West L.A. concept fits in with the Beach Canteen where people are coming to the beach, eating and relaxing with the family. It’s like a laid-back beach vibe of California, only better. We are given the unique opportunity to give a preview of what we have in store, right here on the beach, so that people can fall in love with what we have to offer.”

s*uce ON-SEA, a beach concept of s*uce, sits in a beautiful wooden hut on the sand at the Etisalat Beach Canteen. Open to those who love the Dubai sun, sand and sea, it is a haven filled with exclusive designer wear and accessories from regional and international brands. People loved wandering into the stand-alone hut of s*uce ON-SEA and coming back for more of the s*uce experience.

The Nail Spa, a part of House on Enspa, is all about empowering people through natural beauty. Situated on the raised area of the Etisalat Beach Canteen, it is offering reflexology and massage treatments. A spokesperson of The Nail Spa said: “We are absolutely delighted to be part of the Etisalat Beach Canteen because the atmosphere is amazing and so are the quality of the vendors. We have been attracting people who are interested in knowing more about our new ‘Art Bar’ nail concept and many have already tried our treatments here at the Beach Canteen.”

Etisalat Beach Canteen also serves as the main ticket booking platform for all major events of DFF 2016, which is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). The Etisalat Beach Canteen is open from 12pm – 10pm on weekdays and from 10am – 10pm during the weekends.

DFF 2016, which commenced on 25 March, runs until 12 March under the theme ‘Celebrate the Taste’.
