DSF’s Gold and Jewellery Theme kicks off with the reveal of unique collection of coloured diamond rings

The range of gold and jewellery themed events during the current edition of Dubai Shopping Festival got off to a dream start when the iconic Arab singer, Asala Nasri attended a special event titled  ‘DSF 2016 Presents Jewels Design Journey – by Dhamani’ at Dhamani 1969 at The Dubai Mall.

The Gold and Jewellery theme of DSF is focusing on the ever expanding gold and jewellery trade in Dubai with the festival organisers, the Dubai Festivals and retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) inviting shoppers to join in citywide celebrations to ‘Unwrap All That Glitters’ at a number of retailer-led activations that run until 14 January.

The private event of the high-end jeweler, Dhamani, that was held on 9 January,  and attended by H.E. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), H.E. Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of DFRE, and Syrian star Asala Nasri, who was the Guest of Honour, saw the unveiling of seven unique diamond rings designed by renowned Italian jewellery designer Luciano Ponticello. They were joined at the function by Amit Dhamani, CEO of Dhamani Jewels Group.

During the event, designer Luciano Ponticello gave guests a great insight into how high-end jewellery is designed and created, until the time they adorn the shelves of the Dhamani boutique at The Dubai Mall. Commenting on his creations, Mr. Ponticello, said: “I was inspired by the uniqueness and beauty of Dubai to create these seven stunning rings.”

H.E Excellency, Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of DFRE, said: “We are always looking for unique events to offer visitors to the Dubai Shopping Festival and thanks to Dhamani and Asala Nasri, we had a wonderful start to our gold and jewellery themed events of DSF 2016. The unique diamonds, and the rings they are set into, were created by a world renowned designer, Luciano Ponticello, and reflect the high quality of the retailer-led activations that are taking place during the festival.”

Asala Nasri said: “I am honoured to be attending the launch of these beautiful masterpieces of jewellery. DSF is always a special time for me as I get to come to Dubai to shop and perform at the Dubai Arabic Concert Series. I would like to extend my thanks to DFRE and Dhamani for inviting me to take part in this fantastic activation to highlight the festival’s gold and jewellery theme”

Expressing  his appreciation to DSF, Amit Dhamani, CEO of Dhamani Jewels Group,  said it was a great honor  to welcome H.E. Laila Suhail and Asala to the Dhamani store to launch both the new collection of precious and rare jewellery, as well as the gold and jewellery themed events of DSF.

The Dubai Shopping Festival 2016 runs until 1 February under the tagline ‘Unwrap The Exceptional’ , and as part of the Gold & Jewellery themed events retailers from the gold and jewellery sector will be providing shoppers the opportunity to enjoy some great activities and pick up unbeatable deals and special offers.
