Gulf News -- City Walk isn’t an exclusive place for A-listers to go to for dining or shopping, but one restaurant in the area got to serve the ultimate VIP guest.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, surprised some diners recently as he stepped out to enjoy a meal at a cafe with his wife Princess Haya bint Al Hussein.

The restaurant serves contemporary Azerbaijani cuisine and has just opened its doors recently.

It posted a photo of the royal guest on its Instagram account five days ago.

“HH Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum graced us with his presence today,” the restaurant said. “We are delighted to host his highness and hope to see more of citizens and guests of the marvellous city of Dubai.”

Shaikh Mohammad has occasionally been spotted showing up in public places. Earlier this year, royal watchers saw him in Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi and Farzi Café, also in City Walk.

Baku Café markets itself as a stylish dining venue offering exquisite Azerbaijani dishes. Products used in the restaurant are said to be delivered to Dubai by plane straight from Baku.
