Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today announced its participation at the GITEX Technology Week 2016, marking its 14th consecutive participation at the industry’s ultimate technology event for the region.
Set to run from October 16-20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, DSOA’s participation will highlight to visiting investors the hi-tech park’s delivered projects alongside the ones currently under construction, including Silicon Park, Fakeeh Academic Medical Centre, Axiom Telecom HQ, among many others. DSOA’s stand no ZB20 at Za’beel Hall will host TechTalk sessions throughout the five-day event, inviting industry experts to discuss subjects related to innovation and technology entrepreneurship. Speaking on DSOA’s participation, Adnan Al Bahar, VP Marketing & Corporate Communications at DSOA, said: “GITEX Technology Week offers an ideal annual platform for local and global technology companies to come together, exchange expertise and best practices, discuss increasing trends in the field, and explore potential business opportunities. To underline our focus at promoting the hi-tech park as a proof of concepts for smart city initiatives, we will leverage our participation this year to highlight DSOA’s projects that support Dubai Smart Initiative - such as the Innovation Ignition Lab, and Smart Street Solution, among many others.”
He added: “We are confident that our participation at GITEX 2016 will contribute to positioning DSO as a leading destination for international technology companies and a worthy contributor to the development of Smart City Solutions.”
Furthermore, DSOA’s wholly owned Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre (Dtec), the largest of its kind in the region, will showcase its offerings and its commitment to supporting technology start-ups and innovation through an exclusive stand. Dtec’s stand no NZ-B30 at New Zabeel Hall will host a number of the top SMEs and start-ups headquartered at the high-tech park.
Commending DSOA’s initiative to host a stand-alone stand for Dtec, Adnan said: “We are proud to see the Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Centre come such a long way. Its independent participation at this year’s GITEX Technology Week is testament to the centre’s growth and success in attracting SMEs, and supporting the entrepreneurship sector. We wish the centre a positive presence and a fruitful involvement.”
Visitors to the 36th edition of GITEX Technology Week will have an opportunity to learn about DSO’s solid value proposition and free-zone benefits such as competitive cost of operations, state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced IT network and 100 percent ownership.
Visitors can also interact with DSOA-based SMEs and entrepreneurs at the DSOA stand to learn more about their innovative products and services, and share their success stories that took shape at the integrated free zone technology park.
A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises, medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
