Eid holidays for private sector in UAE announced

Gulf News – All private sector employees in the UAE will have three-day paid holidays starting on Thursday, August 31, until Saturday, September, 2, on account of Eid Al-Adha, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced on Thursday. 

The announcement was made in a Ministerial Circular issued by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The announcement was based on the provisions of Article 74 of Federal Law No. 08 for the year 1980 regulating labour relations, as amended, which stipulates that the Eid al-Adha holiday shall be three days.

On the occasion, Ghobash greeted President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and the people of the UAE and Arab and Islamic countries.
