His romantic, ethereal gowns have transfixed the front rows at Paris Fashion Week for years, and now Dubai residents will be able to capture the magic of Elie Saab's work in their home.
The superstar Lebanese designer is collaborating with Dubai real estate development company Emaar on luxury, branded apartments, offering Palm Jumeirah, Dubai skyline and Arabian Gulf views.
The Saab residences will form part of Emaar Beachfront, an under-development residential community in Dubai Harbour off the shore of Dubai Marina near Palm Jumeirah, which will be comprised of more than 20 towers.
The gated island destination will be named the Grand Bleu Tower, and is due to open in the autumn of 2023, with details announced by the designer and developer at a press conference on Friday at Dubai Opera.
“Elie Saab is the pride of the Arab world, and a fascinating international success story," said Emaar chairman Mohamed Alabbar.
"Every aspect of these glamorous residences is personally designed by Elie Saab, who brings his rare genius and aesthetics to create a new architectural and lifestyle expression.
"Saab has personally lent his touch to every aspect of the residences – from the materials used to the interiors, finishing and even the artworks.”
The Saab-designed apartments will house between one and three bedrooms, with each home boasting a private balcony, and span between 701 square feet and 2,099 square feet.
The four-bedroom collection of penthouses will be a particular highlight, overlooking the Arabian Sea, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina. As well as great views, residents will have direct access to a private beach and numerous dining options in the building, as well as "luxury resort style amenities".
"It's about a vision, how I like to live," Saab told The National about his inspiration. "It's about lifestyle, about life, about quality."
Saab has overseen every aspect of design for the tower, which has been crafted as a celebration of the Art Deco area. The ground level will house boutique fashion stories, galleries and cafes, as well as lobbies, all given the Elie Saab touch.
Residents will also have access to a pool deck on the eighth floor, with the design inspired by the laid-back yet stylish aesthetic of Miami. The deck will be terraced and landscaped to provide a city oasis for homeowners, with an infinity pool, gym and recreational facilities also available for use.
Apartments in the designer tower will go on sale on April 5 at 8.30pm, according to the Emaar website.
Buyers will also be able to get styling advice from the Elie Saab design team, so they can match their furniture purchases to the apartments' interiors.
This is the first interiors project of its kind for the Damour-born creative, who established his namesake womenswear label in 1982. Saab is renowned for both his ready-to-wear and haute couture designs, which have been worn by the likes of Angelina Jolie, Rihanna, Sonam Kapoor and Halle Berry.
Other designer-branded accommodation options in Dubai including the Bulgari Resort and Residences, the Palazzo Versace and the Armani Hotel in the Burj Khalifa.
