Equestrian enthusiasts witnessed an exhilarating conclusion to the Dubai Showjumping Championship

Dubai (UAE), 28th – 30th January, 2016 The equestrian enthusiasts of Dubai were in for an exciting weekend as the Emirates Equestrian Centre played host to the annual CSI-W Dubai Show Jumping Championship. Longines once again served as official timekeepers and watch of the noble event.

Longines presented two segments of the Showjumping Championship; the Longines Speed Stakes on Friday and the Longines Accumulator on Saturday. The competition rewards participants with points based on the fences they have cleared and the level of difficulty achieved with the eventual winner being decided by the highest total points and fastest time. Friday’s Longines Speed Stakes was won by jockey Andre Sakakini from Italy who was followed by Denmark’s Tina Lund in second place and UAE’s Sheikh Ali Al Qasimi in 3rd.

In the Longines Accumulator competition, the top prize was won by David Will from Germany while Marion Hughes from Ireland placed 2nd. UAE’s Abdullah Al Marri rounded off the top 3 with his near perfect performance.

It was a great weekend for equestrian lovers as the Dubai Showjumping Championship brought out some great performances from top riders.
