WAM -- The Etihad Museum, a monument to Emirati heritage that is managed by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and tells the story of the 1971 Union Agreement, has welcomed a group of international authors for a tour of its landmark sites and cultural exhibitions.
The authors were guided on a memorable journey through the events surrounding the 1971 Union Agreement and provided with intimate, informative and enjoyable insights into the crucial period of 1968-1974. The museum captures this pivotal moment in the nation’s history and strives to share it with visitors from across the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdulla bin Massam Al Falasi, Director of Etihad Museum, said, "We are delighted to welcome artists to the Etihad Museum and open its doors to international talent, as this contributes to the rich cultural exchange that we are aiming to develop and nurture. By bringing the nation’s story to life and sharing our history in an engaging, interactive and visual manner, we are attracting visitors from across the world and enhancing Dubai’s reputation as a global, cultural centre."
The authors are in Dubai to participate at the Emirates Festival of Literature, EAFOL, the Middle East’s largest and most exciting celebration of the written and spoken word, where they contributed to literary debates and workshops that completely immerse visitors in the absorbing world of literature.
The Etihad Museum plays a significant role in the academic life of the UAE, encouraging the dynamic exchange of knowledge and providing an important historical resource for a young Emirati generation, UAE residents, and visitors.
