H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed attends opening of WEF

WAM -- H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, attended the opening ceremony of the World Economic Forum, WEF, on the Middle East and North Africa, at the Dead Sea on Friday.

His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan opened the Forum, which is being held under the theme "Empowering Generations into the Future," with the participation of more than 1,100 public and private sector officials, as well as political and business leaders from over 50 countries.

Sheikh Hamed held a series of meetings with a number of regional and international officials focusing on the Forum’s agenda. He said the UAE supports the efforts aimed at stimulating regional economies to achieve stability and spur socio-economic development.

He also stressed the importance of joint co-ordination and co-operation between public and private sectors to find common grounds for sustained economic growth.

The World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa began at the Dead Sea in Jordan on 19th May and will conclude on 21st May. With the full support and presence of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, this year marks the Forum’s ninth meeting in Jordan and the 16th meeting in the region.

More than 1,000 business and political leaders, representatives from civil society and international organisations, as well as youth and media personnel from over 50 countries are participating this year.
