Joint Declaration by the Government structures of Russia, UAE and the UN’s Industrial Development Organization (Video)

WHEREAS the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO),
as a specialized agency of the United Nations, has the unique mandate for promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the developing countries and in countries with economies in transition;

WHEREAS the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
have a longstanding and cooperative relationship with UNIDO and support
the achievement of sustainable and inclusive industrial development globally through the proliferation of advanced technology and advanced production processes, as per the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 9, “build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation;

WHEREAS the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS),
co-chaired by UNIDO and the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the UAE, represents an opportunity, through multi-stakeholder dialogue, to harness the trajectory of advanced manufacturing technologies and production processes, within the sphere of the unfolding Fourth Industrial Revolution, for transformative developmental outcomes worldwide, in full alignment with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda;

THEREFORE, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation,
the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the UAE and UNIDO jointly declare:

1. Their satisfaction with the decision to host GMIS-2019 in the Russian Federation;

2. Their intention to cooperate constructively in the administration of GMIS-2019 with a view to ensuring its smooth passage, which itself aims to harness the rapidly evolving developments in the advanced manufacturing sector for the benefit of global challenges as expressed in the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda;

3. Their desire to support the efforts of the Government of Sverdlovsk Region, Global Manufacturing Organisation Limited and the Roscongress Foundation to organize
the hosting of GMIS-2019 in the Russian Federation.

4. Their desire to sign relevant documents with relevant parties regarding
the arrangements concerning the hosting of the GMIS-2019 in a timely manner.
