Mohammad discusses bilteral ties with Putin

Affirms UAE’s keenness to develop its relations with Russia in a way that will serve the interests of both countries

Abu Dhabi Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, during a telephone call.

Shaikh Mohammad affirmed the UAE’s keenness to develop its relations with Russia in a way that will serve the interests of both the friendly countries.

Putin praised the special relations between the two countries in all fields.

The two sides reviewed a number of issues relating to regional developments, particularly the Syrian crisis. They also touched on current counter-terrorism efforts and the need for the international community to confront terrorist operations and the groups behind them.

Shaikh Mohammad and Putin also reiterated the keenness of the two countries to exert efforts aimed at supporting stability and security in the region and standing up to extremism and terrorist groups seeking to spread chaos and undermine security.

The Russian leader applauded the UAE’s efforts in combatting terrorism and its co-operation with the international community to eradicate the plague that poses a threat to the world peace and security.
