CHANEL presented the Paris-New York 2018/19 Métiers d’art collection on May 28th 2019 in Seoul. Guests attending the show included CHANEL ambassadors Kristen Stewart, Caroline de Maigret, Soo Joo Park, Go Eun Kim and Irene Kim as well as actresses A Sung Ko, Ryeo Won Jung and Sung Kyung Lee, actors JiHoon Ju, and Daniel Henney, singers Krystal and Jay Park.

First staged last December in the Temple of Dendur at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the show was reimagined in a new mise en scène at the S Factory, a multi-cultural complex located in Seongdong District. CHANEL created a special decor portraying a modern vision of an ancient Egypt setting. In a black and gold ambiance, models walked a sandy runway adorned with golden tulle arches reminiscent of the Temple of Dendur. Following the show, guests feted the event in an adjacent space where they enjoyed performances by Yarol Poupaud, Clara Luciani, The Winner, Kino Kino, and Wladimir Schall.

The Paris - New York 2018/19 Métiers d’art collection offers a subtle and modern interpretation of the allure of CHANEL, rendering Egypt a timeless palimpsest, with multiple tributes to the streets of New York, such as graffiti prints and references to the graphic design of skyscrapers. Lines are clear shapes are pure, geometric and distinct: a graphic strength so dear to the stylistic grammar of the House. The complicity between CHANEL Creative studio and the CHANEL Métiers d’art takes shape as a perpetual creative dialogue, which illustrates the sumptuous elegance of the silhouettes and accessories in the collection.

For the occasion of the show, from May 29th onwards, the CHANEL flagship, Galleria, Lotte Avenuel World Tower, will showcase an exclusive window display inspired by the theme of the show. In a warm light atmosphere, blocks in patinated gold with shades of red and covered with champagne gold leaves or burgundy suede will be the perfect backdrop for the collection.
On the same day, CHANEL will also unveil an ephemeral boutique specially dedicated to the
