For the 3 rd time in Dubai, renowned and talented Etoiles and Soloists from Paris Opera National Ballet will perform an unprecedented Ballet Gala

Thanks to the strong support of its partners, Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach, Chalhoub Group, Air France and the Madinat Theatre the Paris Opera Ballet Galas with Stars from L’Opera de Paris are back in Dubai. The performances will be in Madinat Theatre again and the dates are 7th and 8th January initiated by Mrs Reiko M Cheong, Founder and Director of the Ballet School, Dubai Dance Academy, and by L’Alliance Francaise.
Eleven Etoile and soloist performers from the prestigious Paris Opera National Ballet will come to the Madinat Theatre in January 2016 and dance in three unprecedented Dance Galas. The Paris Opera National Ballet considered to be one of the world's Finest Dance Companies.
The Gala will feature Dorothee Gilbert, one of the most acclaimed dancers of the Opera. Ms. Gilbert holds the honour of the Etoile title, awarded as the highest level of achievement within the Paris Opera. Performing leading roles in finest ballets such as Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet and many more, this Ballet Grand Gala with her partner Hugo Marchand, she will dance the high-skilled Pas de Deux from Giselle and present a piece of the choreographer, Benjamin Millepied (Ballet Director of Paris Opera and husband of Natalie Portman) Amoveo for the first time in the UAE on the stage of Madinat Theater, Dubai.
Along with Dorothee, this Ballet Grand Gala will feature soloist artists of Paris Opera, representing the new generation of talented dancers, who perform under the new Director, Benjamin Millepied, husband of Natalie Portman, who is introducing his master piece "Amoveo" for the first time in the United Arab Emirates with this Ballet Gala.
The program of the unprecedented Galas with Etoiles and Soloists from Paris Opera National Ballet has been unveiled and will strike the public of the UAE by its uniqueness and excellence, worthy of the most renowned stages around the globe.
The Gala will open with the technically challenging Pas de Trois, Paquuita, chareograped by Pierre Lacotte, interpreted by three growing young soloists, Marion Barbeau, Alice Catonnet and Germain Louvet.
Act Two will feature piece created by Benjamin Millepied’s, Director of Dance for the Paris Opera, “Amoveo”, which is danced in the United Arab Emirates for the first time. Amoveo relates the metamorphosis of a love story and its affect on the couple and their companions. It is an original adaptation of musical excerpts from Einstein on the Beach by Philip Glass and Bob Wilson. It will be performed by the star dancers of the Gala, Dorothee Gilbert and Hugo Marchand.
The exciting premiere will take place on the 7th of January 2015 at 8.00pm. Further performances will be held on the 8th at 2.00pm and 8.00pm at the Madinat Theatre.
