"Ramadan Majlis" to be dedicated to the families of Martyrs

WAM) -- The Martyrs’ Families Affairs Office at His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Supreme Committee for the Year of Giving announced the organisation of the "Ramadan Majlis for Martyrs' Families" during the holy month of Ramadan, in order to maintain continuous communication with them and to highlight the heroism values embodied by the martyrs for their country.

The initiative comes within the framework of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to dedicate the projects and programmes of this ''Year of Giving'' to all UAE martyrs and to their families. The strategy for the Year of Giving was revealed at a Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and in attendance of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, at Wahat Al Karama.

And on this note, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office (MFAO) at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, said: "The UAE leadership’s directives calling for dedicating all initiatives of the Year of Giving to the martyrs' families reflects their commitment to standing united with the families of the brave Emiratis who sacrificed their lives for the country, and including them in all initiatives that reflect the nation’s pride and gratitude for their sons. Such directives are the very foundation upon which we build our initiatives and partnerships with various government entities across the UAE."

"The Martyrs' Majlis" in Ramadan is an extension of the Office's efforts to maintain and strengthen communication and outreach with the heroes’ families," Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun added, "It constitutes an ideal platform to connect these families with high-ranking officials from the UAE Government, which supports our objectives in supporting these families and maintaining all facets of a decent life for them."

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Year of Giving, said: "The initiative reflects our leadership’s utmost care to dedicate all ?activities and initiatives in this Year of Giving to the martyrs and their families. These families instilled patriotic values to their sons and daughters and we seek to stay close to them and to highlight the honorable sacrifice that their children gave to the nation."

Al Gergawi praised the effort undertaken by the Martyrs' Families' Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince."The efforts and initiatives of the Martyrs' Families' Affairs Office reflect the interest of the leadership to respond to all their needs and provide support." He added that the martyrs’ families enjoy a personal and close follow-up from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

''The initiative of the Ramadan Majlis will be organised across the UAE, in the presence of members of the Cabinet, community leaders, media personalities, honorable guests of the State and participants in Dubai International Holy Quran Award,"

he added.

Members of the Cabinet will participate in Ramadan Majlis to engage in meaningful discussions with the martyrs’ families. The first Ramadan Majlis will host Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. The topics will address various social, national and educational aspects. In particulate: UAE’s regional role notably in issues related to Arab countries, the role of the National Youth and their responsibilities in maintaining growth and prosperity among other topics.
