20th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival will run from January 1 to February 1, 2015
Dubai: Organisers of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) have opened the registration process for retail shops to participate in the 20th year of the shopping festival in 2015.
The 32-day shopping festival will run from January 1 to February 1, 2015, organisers from the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), said.
The retail registration for DSF 2015 will run until January 29, 2015 to give a chance to everyone to register. The registration centres are located at the Department of Economic Development’s offices at Business Village, Block A, and its branch at The Dubai Mall. The centres will be open Sunday to Thursday from 7.30am to 1.30pm.
“Every year, during DSF, Dubai’s business community runs exciting promotions that not only energise the retail sector but also make shopping in Dubai during this world-famous festival a rewarding experience,” Saeed Mohammad Mesam Al Falasi, Director, Strategic Alliance Division at DFRE, said.
“The variety of promotions will offer retailers the opportunity to boost sales during DSF and provide an incentive for residents and visitors to visit Dubai during this peak season for shopping that will further enhance Dubai’s position as a year-round family tourism destination.”
Retailers can select from a variety of promotions such as Sales, Part Sales, DSF Discounts and DSF Offers, and categories including single outlet with single brand, single outlet with multiple brands, group of companies, kiosks and stands, advertising by paper/leaflet/flyer, online advertising per brand, raffles, exhibitions, media house, and restaurant or fast food.
As part of the special celebration of DSF’s 20th edition, organisers have introduced special categories including an Opening Weekend Special from January 1 to 3, DSF 20th Edition Special and DSF Raffles and Scratch and Win promotions.
Those registering as Retail Sponsors can run their promotions from December 1 to February 1. Those registering as Retail Participants will be entitled to run promotions from January 1 to February 1.
DSF attracts on average 4.4 million visitors every year with a total spending of Dh15 billion. It is an important retail season that makes a major contribution towards the emirate’s economy of about 25 to 30 per cent of the annual sales of retailers in Dubai.
