Kazan hosted the KazanForum 2026, one of the key international business events of the year, held from May 12 to May 17. The forum traditionally brings together representatives of business communities, government institutions, and international organizations to discuss economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and the development of trade relations between countries.
Kirill Podgorny, Chairman of the Russian Business Council (RBC), took part in the forum, presenting the Council’s position and initiatives within the international business agenda.

On May 15, on the sidelines of KazanForum, Kirill Podgorny delivered a speech at a plenary session organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. In his address, he outlined the activities of the Russian Business Council, highlighted its key development priorities, and discussed prospects for cooperation between the RBC and the CCI of the Russian Federation.
Particular attention was given to the expansion of Russian business into the markets of the United Arab Emirates and the broader GCC region. According to Podgorny, these markets remain among the most promising and strategically important destinations for the international growth of Russian companies.
The forum also featured a series of bilateral meetings with delegations from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Egypt, as well as discussions with representatives of Russian and international companies, including both current and prospective members of the Russian Business Council. The talks focused on strengthening trade and economic ties and expanding practical cooperation formats between the business communities of the participating countries.
Kirill Podgorny noted that enhanced cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia will enable the development of a structured support framework for Russian businesses entering the markets of the Gulf countries. He emphasized that the discussions with the delegations from the UAE, Oman, and Egypt confirmed a mutual interest in advancing multilateral economic cooperation and building sustainable business relationships.
The participation of the Russian Business Council in KazanForum 2026 marked an important step toward strengthening international business dialogue and expanding practical tools to support entrepreneurs targeting global markets.
