The National -- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was awarded the Order of the Mother of the Nation from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai received the award in recognition of the humanitarian initiatives he conducts in under-developed countries through Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
“I am honoured to receive this Order, which reflects the values established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said, adding that Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is a role model for a woman leader who is committed to the welfare of the people.
"Her initiatives have reinforced the UAE’s profile as a nation that places a high priority on the wellbeing of its people," he said.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed congratulated his "brother" Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, saying he was an exceptional leader.
"Mohammed bin Rashid is an exceptional leader who has presented humanitarian and development initiatives and projects throughout the world and has spread the values of peace, cooperation, cooperation and compassion among people," he said.
"The generosity that the UAE has displayed through its initiatives around the world stems from the country’s cultural ethos and the values of its leadership, which reflect the path adopted by the late Sheikh Zayed, and UAE President Sheikh Khalifa," Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, "established the foundations of humanitarian and community work in the UAE and has used it to serve humanity ... she will remain a symbol of giving, uniqueness and renewal."
The award ceremony was held at the Emirates Palace Auditorium on Wednesday and also honoured the winners of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Awards (HHSFBMA), which feature the Fatima bint Mubarak Award and the Fatima bint Mubarak Family House Award.
