Sharjah Investment Authority to participate in China Trade Week

7 December, 2015

Abu Dhabi: Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) announced it will be participating in China Trade Week, which will be held from December 7-9 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The Authority is participating together with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority, and aims to showcase the opportunities offered by Sharjah to Chinese investors.

In a statement, the Authority said it is focusing on the sectors identified as Sharjah’s main areas of growth; leisure and tourism, logistic services, health care, and environment.

The authority will discuss with Chinese investors its projects that are currently underway, such as Noor Island, the Heart of Sharjah, Kalba Ecotourism, Sir Bu Nuair Island, the Mleiha Ecotourism and Archeological Project, and Al Jabal Resort.

China Trade Week is expected to bring together over 200 Chinese exhibitors looking to network and explore business and investment opportunities with economic authorities and businesses in the region.

“We have a long experience in working with Chinese investors and businesses through a series of road shows and meetings with our Chinese partners over the last years.

We would like to strengthen and build upon these excellent relationships by introducing the distinctive areas of investment in Sharjah to other categories of Chinese investment authorities and agencies, and attracting them to Sharjah,” said Saud Al Suwaidi, Director of International Relations and Partnerships at Shurooq.
