Gulf Today -- The Latvian stewardess, 29, misused Instagram to threaten the Azerbaijani salesman, 35, that she would tarnish his honour unless he paid $100, 000 to receive the photos from her, the Bur Dubai Police Station learnt.
He paid $10, 000 (Dhs36, 700) for a batch, prosecutors said and demanded the Criminal Court to hand her the toughest punishment. She denied. Her lawyer presented a defence memo. The ruling will be on Oct.10.
An Emirati lieutenant said that upon arrest she confessed and explained how she struck a deal with the salesman’s wife’s fugitive ex-lover to blackmail the salesman into paying cash, and then spoil his marriage.
She established an account on Instagram with false data and sent the salesman messages notifying him that his wife was allegedly cheating on him and that she was still in love with her ex.
She told him she had credible evidence supported with intimate photos. The salesman deposited $10, 000 in her account at a national bank. The ex-lover fled and left her with his IPad containing more photos.
The salesman complained that a message from the stewardess landed in his inbox allegedly reading: “Are you Z? I would like to tell you about something happening between your wife and her ex-lover.
It continued: “I have clues and photos. I want to open your eyes to things happening around you. I only want 20 minutes from your time.” The message discomforted him and he boiled with anger.
He contacted her and she demanded him to pay $1, 000 per photo and told him the whole required him to pay $100, 000. She threatened that if he failed to pay she would send the photos to people in his home country.
She intimidated him into depositing $10, 000 in her account after telling him the photos would tarnish his honour and reputation among people in his home country, and would be an everlasting shame on him, particularly in the eyes of his daughter.
