As holidaymakers increasingly put themselves in harm's way in the quest for the ultimate travel Instagram shot, one duo have been slammed for uploading a photo of their precarious feat of acrobatics on a Caribbean beach.

Maho Beach in Saint Martin, a patch of sand on the Dutch side of the island, has become a tourist hot spot in recent times on account of surreally close-up views of passenger jets arriving and departing from Saint Martin's Princess Juliana International Airport.

Planes get jaw-droppingly close to beachgoers as they land and take off, and visitors flock there to experience the force of the plane blasts first-hand, and leave with an Instagram-worthy holiday snap.

Tourists Oleg Kolisnichenko, 36, and Yuliia Nos, 25, may have taken their photo creativity too far when they snapped pictures of them performing a daring double one-handed handstand as a plane flew over them.

Nos's feet appear to almost touch the wheels of the plane as it zooms above the pair, and in the second photo you notice her start to lose balance from her precariously high perch.

Kolisnichenko shared the daring moment online last month.
