The UAE Government has announced public holidays ahead of National Day on December 2, Commemoration Day on November 30 and the Prophet's birthday.
Government offices will be closed on Thursday November 30 to December 3 as the country celebrates its 46th birthday, according to Wam.
Offices will reopen on Monday, December 4.
Celebrations throughout the country will commemorate the UAE’s formal nationalisation from the British Protectorate Treaties.
UAE schools celebrate the day by holding national events where children dress up in the cultural garb and perform folkloric dances.
In Abu Dhabi, residents and visitors can participate in a number of festivities including at Yas Mall’s Town Square.
There will be traditional performances by Ayala dancers, a Liwa Folk band, police marching band and circus troupes as well as opportunities to try Arabic coffee and dates plus henna and face painting for the kids.
