The National -- The Saint Elias Greek Orthodox Cathedral was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi by the Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and in the presence of Patriarch John X Yazigi, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East.

The National -- An Emirati man donated 100,000 of various local tree types to be planted in the UAE as part of the Year of Zayed.

Salem Al Qaidi, the owner of Al Qaidi Farms, said that half the trees will be distributed to citizens and residents in different emirates of the UAE while the other half will be donated to public parks and reservations in Sharjah.

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, at Thursday announced a US$ 16 billion (AED 58.7 billion) deal for 36 additional Airbus A380 aircraft, with 20 firm orders and 16 options. Emirates’ A380 fleet operates both Engine Alliance and Rolls-Royce engines, and the airline is evaluating engine options for its latest A380 order.
