As The View Palm Jumeirah marks its fifth anniversary, the attraction is raising the stakes with the launch of The Ledge – an exhilarating new experience that invites guests to step beyond the observation deck and out into the sky. With eight glass ledges extending 1.5 metres beyond the viewing platform, visitors can look out across the spectacular panorama of Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s glittering skyline, or look straight down through the glass beneath their feet.

To mark the milestone, Fernando Eiroa, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Entertainment, speaks to Aviamost about pushing the boundaries of visitor experiences, strengthening Dubai’s position as a global tourism and leisure destination, and the importance of the Russian community to the emirate’s continued success.

The View Palm Jumeirah is celebrating five years with the launch of The Ledge. What makes this experience a game-changer for visitors?

The Ledge takes the excitement of viewing Dubai from above to another level. Guests can step out 240 metres above sea level onto one of eight glass ledges, each extending 1.5 metres beyond the observation deck. It is an opportunity to experience the city from a completely new perspective, with breathtaking views of Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s skyline.

What makes it special is the combination of the thrill, the setting and the sense of achievement guests feel when they step onto the glass. Whether they are looking towards the horizon or straight down beneath their feet, it is an experience that stays with them and one they will want to capture and share.

Since opening in 2021, The View has welcomed millions of guests from around the world. What does its five-year journey tell us about Dubai’s appeal?

The View Palm Jumeirah has become a distinctive part of Dubai’s tourism landscape. Over the past five years, we have welcomed millions of guests from 130 countries, witnessed 1,825 sunrises and 1,825 sunsets, hosted 40 marriage proposals and seen 300 professional photographers choose our 360-degree views to capture Dubai from above.

These milestones reflect more than visitor numbers. They show how a destination can become part of people’s personal stories whether it is a first glimpse of Dubai, a special celebration or a photograph that captures a memorable moment. The Ledge builds on that connection, giving both first-time visitors and returning guests another reason to discover The View.

Dubai’s tourism offering continues to evolve. How does The Ledge reflect Dubai Holding Entertainment’s broader vision for leisure and entertainment?

Our ambition is to create experiences that surprise people, inspire them to explore and give them reasons to return. Dubai has established itself as a global destination for tourism and entertainment, and visitors are increasingly looking for experiences that go beyond the traditional sightseeing itinerary – something distinctive, immersive and memorable.

The Ledge is a great example of how we can build on an existing attraction and introduce a new dimension without losing what makes it special. By continually innovating, we can offer fresh perspectives on Dubai’s landmarks and ensure that our destinations remain relevant and exciting for residents and international visitors alike.

The View offers a spectacular panorama throughout the day. When is the best time to experience The Ledge?

Every time of day offers something different. In the morning and during the day, guests can enjoy the brilliant blue waters of the Arabian Gulf and the distinctive shape of Palm Jumeirah. At sunset, the sky transforms into a palette of warm colours, while after dark, Dubai’s illuminated skyline creates an entirely different atmosphere.

There is no single best moment. It depends on what you want to experience. The Ledge offers a fresh perspective at any time, whether you are looking for a thrilling daytime adventure, a spectacular sunset or a memorable view of the city at night.

Dubai welcomes visitors from all over the world. How important is the Russian community to your business and to the emirate’s tourism landscape?

The Russian community is very important to our business and to Dubai as a whole. We welcome both Russian tourists and residents, and they are an integral part of the city’s international community. Dubai is a melting pot of cultures and nationalities, and Russians have made a significant contribution to its vibrant, cosmopolitan character.

We continue to see positive demand from the Russian community, and we value the role it plays in the growth of Dubai’s tourism and leisure sector. Our aim is to offer experiences that appeal to a diverse international audience while ensuring that residents and visitors alike feel welcome and have something exciting to discover.

For guests who have already visited The View, what is your invitation to return?

Come back and see Dubai from a new perspective. Even if you have visited The View before, The Ledge offers a different way to experience the city and adds a new element of excitement to the visit. The views change with the light, the atmosphere evolves throughout the day, and there is always something new to appreciate.

Whether you are visiting with family, spending time with friends or looking for an experience that gets your adrenaline going, we want you to leave with a memory worth sharing. After all, Dubai is a city that never stands still, and our experiences should reflect that spirit.

The Ledge is now open at The View Palm Jumeirah and is included in general admission. Tickets start at AED 115 for adults and AED 80 for children and are available at www.theviewpalm.ae.
