Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inaugurated a new 500-metre bridge as part of the ongoing World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project, further advancing the city’s road infrastructure and mobility network.
The newly opened bridge is designed to facilitate outbound traffic from Al Bada’a towards 2nd December Street, providing direct connectivity to Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mustaqbal Street. The project aims to ease congestion and support rising traffic demand in one of Dubai’s most strategically important transport corridors near Sheikh Zayed Road.
Featuring a single lane with a capacity of up to 1,200 vehicles per hour, the bridge is expected to significantly improve travel efficiency, reducing journey times from eight minutes to approximately two minutes for motorists travelling from Al Bada’a towards Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mustaqbal Street.
As part of the infrastructure upgrade, the signalised intersection on 2nd December Street leading to Sheikh Rashid Road and Al Mustaqbal Street will also be transformed into a free-flow junction, further enhancing traffic movement and connectivity across surrounding areas.
The bridge complements three previously completed structures within the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project, which includes a total of six bridges spanning 5,000 metres. Earlier phases included the opening of a bridge linking Sheikh Zayed Road with Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street in February 2026, followed by two additional bridges launched in December 2025 connecting 2nd December Street with Sheikh Rashid Road, Al Majlis Street, and Al Mustaqbal Street.
Once fully completed, the project is expected to play a key role in strengthening Dubai’s transport infrastructure and supporting the emirate’s vision of becoming one of the world’s most liveable and accessible cities.
