Abu Dhabi's hotel guest numbers reach 1.2 million in Q2 2019

Abu Dhabi’s hotels have posted remarkable year-on-year growth in the 2nd Quarter of 2019, with hotel guest numbers reaching a record 1.2 million for the April to June period, a 6.8% increase from the same period in 2018.

The latest report from the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) also shows that total hotel revenues for the 2nd Quarter were up to AED 1.2 billion, a rise of 3.7% from the previous year.

(CNN) – The gunman's sister was one of nine people killed in a shooting early Sunday in downtown Dayton, Ohio, police said.

At least 27 others were injured when Connor Betts, 24, fired an assault rifle in a popular nightlife district about 1 a.m., authorities said.

WAM -- President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 669 prisoners - serving various sentences - on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Sheikh Khalifa has also pledged to settle the financial obligations of the released prisoners.

The gesture is part of President Khalifa's keenness to provide prisoners with an opportunity to start a new life and alleviate their families hardships.
