US official concerned Iran has seized UAE-based tanker

US defence officials are concerned about the disappearance of a small tanker last seen drifting towards Iranian waters in the Arabian Gulf earlier this week.

The Panama-flagged oil tanker Riah stopped transmitting its location late on Saturday after leaving UAE waters heading towards Iranian waters.

Dubai International Airport terminal hit by temporary power outage

Dubai International Airport suffered a partial power cut on Monday leaving passengers sweating when the air conditioning shut down.

The system failure in Terminal 3 happened just after 11am and lasted half an hour, an airport spokesman said.

There were no reports of flight disruption and other terminals were unaffected.

“Dubai Airports can confirm that there was a power outage at Dubai International’s Terminal 3 at 11.04am due to a technical issue,” a spokesman said.... Read More

The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), the UAE’s nuclear regulator, has officially certified the first group of 15 Emirati reactor operators at Nawah Energy Company, the operations and maintenance subsidiary of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).

The Emirate of Dubai is now offering a free 30-day alcohol licence for tourists, a move that ensures visitors will not be penalised for breaking the law.

Gold bars were among the 7,408 valuables left inside Dubai's taxis by passengers during the first half of the year.

Money, mobile phones, passports and jewellery accounted for many of the other items.
