Dubai-based flydubai has inaugurated its new service from Dubai to Sochi. flydubai flight FZ985 arrived at Sochi International Airport (AER) on 07 June and was met with a traditional water cannon salute and a welcome ceremony. Tokayev wins Kazakhstan’s presidency with 70.76 percent of vote, official preliminary results say

Incumbent Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received 70.76 percent of the vote (6,504,024 votes) in Kazakhstan’s June 9 presidential election, said Central Election Commission (CEC) Deputy Chairman Konstantin Petrov at a June 10 CEC briefing on preliminary election results.

KLM’s new Flying-V jet will take test flight in October (Video)

The way we fly could be set to change faster than predicted thanks to a radical new Flying-V airplane design.

Air France-KLM has collaborated with a Dutch university to fund research into a new aircraft design that could make long-haul air travel much more sustainable.

The Flying-V aircraft has massive wings and a unique two-prong design. The wings will be where the passenger cabins, cargo hold and the jet’s fuel tanks are placed.

Dubai bus crash: death toll rises to 17

Seventeen people died and three others were severely hurt in a bus crash in Dubai on Thursday.

The Oman-registered bus — a Mwasalat vehicle transporting people between Dubai and Muscat — was travelling along Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, carrying 31 passengers, when it crashed into a signboard at Al Rashidiya exit at 5.40pm. It is unclear what caused the driver to crash into the traffic sign, which displayed the maximum height of vehicles allowed to pass beneath it.
