Etihad Airways has unveiled a major Economy transformation programme starting with the cabin upgrade and refurbishment of 23 narrow-body Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The World Food Programme welcomes the Russian Federation’s donation of 97 KAMAZ trucks and 30 trailers, which will greatly help enhance its transport capacity. The 21 May’s handover marks another important milestone in the historic and long-lasting partnership between the Russian Federation and WFP in the area of logistical technologies. This recent donation will contribute to boosting the operational performance of three of WFP Regional Fleet Hubs, namely in the UAE, Ghana and Uganda.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid unveils gold card for permanent-visa residents

Investors and entrepreneurs granted permanent residency in the UAE will be granted a "gold card" confirming their new status.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, announced the move on Tuesday.

He said about 6,800 people had been granted permanent residency under the first round of applications.

They collectively pledged investments of an estimated Dh100 billion, he said.

Small DA42 plane crashes in Dubai: GCAA

WAM – A UK-registered small DA42 plane crashed three miles to the south of Dubai International Airport, killing four people on board, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced today.

The four-seat plane crashed while on a mission to calibrate terrestrial navigation systems at the airport, with all crew members, three British, and one South African, killed, said the GCAA in a statement.
