Netflix will not follow in MBC's footsteps by removing Turkish shows

The National -- MBC's decision to remove all Turkish programming has not been replicated by other popular broadcasters in the region.

The Dubai-based MBC Group confirmed on Sunday it had received instructions to remove Turkish shows from all of its channels, including Egypt’s MBC Masr, until further notice.

Online streaming service Netflix told The National on Monday that “MBC’s decision doesn’t affect our programming” but did not comment any further.

Expat wins luxury car after over three decades living in Dubai

Gulf News -- A surprise draw held during a tennis game in Dubai has made yet another UAE expat’s dream come true.

Abdul Gafoor Kunnathakath, who works for a utility company in the UAE, was announced as the winner of a luxury car at the latest Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise raffle that was held at the closing of the Dubai Championships final on Saturday.

His ticket was drawn by Spanish player Roberto Bautista Agut, who also happens to be the champion of the tournament.

Etihad launches flights to Baku, Azerbaijan

Joint flights are launched on the route Abu Dhabi (AUH) - Baku (GYD) - Abu Dhabi (AUH) for the first time under the agreement between the national air carriers of Azerbaijan and the UAE – AZAL and Etihad AirwaysTrend.az reports.

RAK police rescue German tourists from Jebel Jais

The National -- A group of German tourist aged between 17 and 74 have been rescued from Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, after getting lost.
