Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA), one of the UAE’s leading free zones, has announced a new strategic partnership with Liaoning Chamber of Commerce UAE. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will increase collaboration between the two organizations to help expand bilateral trade and create new business and investment opportunities with Liaoning province.

The fifth-largest gem diamond in history sells for $40 million

A 910-carat diamond, named "The Lesotho Legend," was bought by tender Monday by an unnamed buyer in Antwerp, Belgium, according to Gem Diamonds.

Gem Diamonds, which retrieved the rock in January, said it was the fifth-largest gem-quality diamond ever recovered.

The firm said it had removed the diamond from the Letseng mine in Lesotho, a country encircled by South Africa. According to Gem Diamonds in January, it was the largest diamond to have been recovered from the mine.

The National -- Dubai has come up with a novel approach for law enforcement – doing away with police officers.

Instead the city is looking at a series of high tech initiatives that include fighting crime with an airborne surveillance blimp, linked CCTV cameras, and rapid response teams.
