Dubai Airports introduces passenger service fee of Dhs 35

Charge applies to departing flights after June 30, booked after March 1

Passengers flying out of Dubai’s airports will now pay Dh35 along with airline fare and other airport charges, the Dubai Media Office said in a statement yesterday.

The service fee has been introduced to help finance the expansion of Dubai International and Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC), according to the statement.

Dubai unveiled a new logo for the Expo 2020 event yesterday evening in a ceremony attended by UAE vice president and prime minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Racehorse California Chrome was crowned the winner of the 21st edition of the $10m Dubai World Cup on Saturday at the Meydan Racecourse.

The super horse won with a time of 2:01.83 and became the richest in history, according to reports.

The winner’s share of $6m pushed California Chrome’s earnings to $12,532,650, state news agency WAM said. This placed it will ahead of the 2008 Dubai World Cup winner Curlin ($10,501,800).
